Halfway

Can you believe we are halfway through summer already? A month and a half down, a month and a half to go. There is so much that we had intended on doing but haven't yet. I'm not sure how the time gets away from us like it does.
How is your summer going?

For my own list making sake, here's what we have yet to squeeze in to the remaining summer days in no particular order:

• Go camping at least one weekend. 'Camping' is a bit of a stretch really. My grandparents have a very nice place up on Mille Lacs. It's sissy camping. Air conditioning, pool, real showers. Just the way we like it.
  
• Have a mommy and daddy weekend away. We had intentions of going up to visit our dear friends in Ontario for a few days, but both her and I are newly pregnant and less than fun in all our queeziness. The thought of 14hrs in the car makes me nauseous so that will have to wait for another year. We will be quite content staying in the Twin Cities for a night or two instead.
• Order curriculum for the kidlets for this fall. It's all in my Sonlight cart waiting, I just need to check out. Speaking of which, does anyone have any recommendations for a good Gospel-centered Bible program that would work well for a 5 & 7 year old? I really like the concept of Sovereign Grace's God's Story program, but it is Sunday School material. Maybe someday they'll modify it for home use. Or maybe it would work as is... anyone familiar with it? I know Children's Desiring God curricula can be modified for home use, but our church uses that on Sunday and Wednesday so they've been through a lot of the materials already. Any other ideas??
  
• Accomplish some landscaping around the house. We did some planting already, and really the rest could wait for next year.
• Keep up on weeding the garden. A never ending process. Also, a second lettuce crop needs to go in in a couple weeks.
• We were going to take a little family vacation to the Black Hills and to see my sis and her husband in Rapid City, but with him being deployed next month that may take a back burner, we're still undecided.
• Get a swing put up for the kiddos. A lot of our trees are very old and probably not very safe, but certainly we can find a sturdy branch.

Well, I think that's plenty of to-dos for now. Hope your summer is going well and much time has been spent enjoying the blessings that are our family and friends!
