Spring Rain

I had every intention of doing sort of an introduce myself type post today, but there's something else on my mind so that will have to wait.

I was driving home today and it started raining. My initial reaction was discouragement. It seems that lately it rains all the time. Before the discouragement even had a chance to set in though, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a passage.

Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord;
his going out is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.
Hosea 6:3

God wants us to know Him, to press on to know Him. To seek hard after Him. And if we obey Him in that He assures us that He will come to us as surely as the sun rises every morning without fail and as consistently and persistently as the spring rain that never seems to end. He seeks to be to our hearts the water that saturates the earth, nourishing and sustaining our souls with His presence. God is so good and forever faithful. I praise Him for the ceaseless downpour of His mercy and grace.
